Meshlab (Lab course, WS 2012/13)
In this lab course, the students will carry out experiments using mesh routers. The experiments will start with introductions to tools of the trade (Linux wireless interface configuration, tcpdump, data plotting tools) to provide a guide how to collect measurements and present them. The experiments will range from interference measurements, inner workings of IEEE 802.11 MAC to opportunistic (multi-channel/multi-radio) routing algorithms targeted to wireless mesh networks. In each experiment, the students will be setting up experiements, analyzing performance under varying protocol parameters and node/network conditions and comparing different solutions.
