Entwurf und Implementierung eines Layer-2.5-Frameworks für reaktives Routing

Abstract For a realistic research of routing protocols for MANETs and WMNs it is not enough to relay on simulations. Researchers need to implement routing algorithms on real world operating systems and evaluate them using real wireless links. Testbeds have evolved as the tool of choice because they provide a fixed setup promising easy experimentation and reproducible results. This thesis analyses the implementation issues of reactive routing protocols and describes DES-SERT, a simple and extensible layer 2.5 routing framework for testbeds, which has been implemented to overcome most of these issues. It covers the reasoning of the architecture and implementation of the DES-SERT framework. The thesis is concluded by the evaluation of the framework through the implementation of two routing protocols and basic performance results where it has proven itself.
