Quality of Service / Quality of Experience
The provisioning of broadband access has enabled the deployment of new services such as the distribution of TV content over IP networks (IPTV), Video on Demand platforms, or Internet telephony (VoIP). However, for the successful deployment of such services, it has become increasingly important for service providers/operators to understand and control Quality of Experience (QoE) aspects. In a broad sense, QoE refers to the service quality perceived by customers and can be assessed in terms of objective and subjective psychological measures. Our research focuses on understanding how network architectures, traffic properties and other control parameters impact the Quality of Experience under different networking conditions in wired and wireless scenarios for the current and future Internet.
